POKOTABI / Takuru cafe
Takuru cafe
Located in Senju-nakacho, Kita-Senju, Takuru cafe serves braised pork belly lu rou fan sets, panini made on black bean walnut bread, and light sweets such as Taiwanese castella.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At Takuru cafe, the Lu Rou Fan set arrives as a satisfying teishoku-style meal centered around tender, sweet-savory braised pork belly paired with side dishes and soup. Rooted in Taiwanese home-style cooking, the bowl is balanced by homemade pickles, offering a wholesome and grounding option for lunch.
Beyond rice, the cafe pays careful attention to its bread offerings. Sandwiches crafted on black bean and walnut bread include the Mushroom Panini—layered with mushrooms, mozzarella, and a splash of red wine vinegar—as well as the Reuben Sandwich packed with pastrami and sauerkraut, balancing toasted warmth with tangy brightness. Playful sweet-and-savory combinations, such as a peanut butter and mochi panini, make for comforting light fare or brunch.
For dessert or an afternoon pause, the menu includes fluffy Taiwanese castella and rich Basque cheesecake. These pair naturally with carefully brewed Americanos, oat lattes, organic royal milk tea, or herbal infusions like African Nectar.
The shop occupies a compact space split across 1F and 2F, offering a calm, unhurried atmosphere that welcomes solo diners. Guests secure a seat before ordering and paying at the 1F counter, where cash and PayPay are accepted. Takeout is also offered, making it easy to pick up a warm drink or a baked treat while strolling through the neighborhood.
